Meaning of Plan and Elevation in Engineering Drawing

Program, Section, and Elevation are different types of drawings used past architects to graphically represent a building design and construction. A programme cartoon is a cartoon on a horizontal airplane showing a view from higher up. An Elevation drawing is fatigued on a vertical plane showing a vertical depiction. A section drawing is also a vertical depiction, but 1 that cuts through space to show what lies inside.

Plan Drawing Definition

Plan drawings are specific drawings architects apply to illustrate a building or portion of a building. A program is drawn from a horizontal plane looking down from above. Program Drawings

A plan drawing shows a view from in a higher place. This is often used to draw the layout of a building, showing locations of rooms and windows, walls, doors, stairs etc. Although plan drawings can exist drawn from to a higher place, they are often drawn cut through the edifice with horizontal plane. The plan is typically cut at a height of about four feet, but the builder drawing the plan may cut it at a unlike summit. This means that you have an imaginary airplane cut through the building at an elevation of 4 feet higher up the floor. Therefore, you run across in the cut annihilation that the plane passes through.

Plan Callouts

Another common architectural convention is the use of program callouts. A callout is an area within the plan that is drawn at a larger scale.
